Romantics planning on celebrating Valentine's Day are being urged by Watford Borough Council to take a green approach.
The council has issued a host of green alternatives to mark Valentine's Day.
Watford Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "There are plenty of Valentine's cards to choose from which show your feelings and are a good opportunity to show you care."
