Kings Langley has been officially transformed into the fictional kingdom of King’s Landing as part of promotion stunt for the Game of Thrones television series.

The village had a new sign installed this morning declaring it was "King’s Landing, Capital of the Seven Kingdoms" but also reminding motorists to "please drive carefully".

The mayor of Dacroum, Councillor Penny Hearn, was on hand to unveil the new sign, which is part of efforts to promote the release of the Season three of HBO series this week.

The council has said it hopes the initiative, which will last all week, will draw devotees of the show to the village.
