A lorry driver had a lucky escape this morning when his truck overturned in the slip road onto the M1.
Emergency services were called to the exit from the M25 onto the M1 Northbound just after 3am this morning.
The Scania truck, which was full of frozen chips, was left on its side and blocking both lanes.
Firefighters were also called to the scene to help the driver get out of the lorry.
An engine from St Albans was joined by a specialist recovery unit that is used for large crashes.
The crews used ladders to help get the man out of the cab of the lorry.
He was given first aid at the scene and the ambulance was called. He had minor injuries.
The clockwise road was fully closed at 3.20am. One lane reopened just after 7.30am.
One lane of the slip road is still closed as the truck is being recovered and there is traffic congestion back to Junction 20 for Kings Langley.
