Derek Turner

TURNER Derek Aged 77, of Bushey Heath, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 9th 2022. Graduating with a degree in Biology Specialising in Botany & Zoology, he started his career at HJ Heinz in quality control, pursuing his interests in IT he had a successful career, retiring from IBM as a Computer Programmer. His retirement allowed him a continued focus on his hobbies of birdwatching, amateur radio and natural history, being active in local clubs and societies. He will be missed by his loving family and all those that knew him. A short service will be held at Church of St. Peter - Bushey Heath, WD23 1FG on Wednesday 7th December at 11:30. Flowers to be sent to Co-op Funeralcare, 251 Lower High Street, Watford, WD17 2HN

I was saddened to see the passing of Derek in RadCom. We had many a chat in the early and mid 1980s via amateur radio. We lost contact when I married and moved away but my father spoke to Derek for many years and they shared an interest in photography,
Farewell old friend.
