COX Gavin Peter Aged 53, Passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 3rd 2018, at home in Luton. He was born November 25th 1964, in Oxhey, Watford, to Joseph and Barbara Cox. Gavin became an English teacher and worked with special needs pupils. His last employment was at Garston Manor School, where he unfortunately had to retire, so that he could fight with courage and spirit against his brain tumour. Described as an absolute gentleman and one of life's unique characters who made a positive difference to many peoples lives. This shining light with his vivacious energy, his cheeky smile and a laughter that touched souls continued to live life to the fullest. Gavin is survived by his adoring wife Helena and his doting and loving boys Miles and Harvey. Come say farewell 03/11/2018 for the afters celebration of his life at Garston Manor School 12.30 onwards.

I know really late but he was my best teacher At garston manor he was my form tutor he was the nice person I've ever met really kind I'm going to miss him

I am so very sorry to learn of the passing of Gavin. I worked with him when I started as a Learning Support Assistant at Francis Combe looking after a group of Year 7 students and then later when he taught in Millstream. He was so much fun and played plenty of tricks on me! A truly special teacher who clicked with his students and had a brilliant rapport with them. I am truly sorry that I missed his funeral and my thoughts & prayers are with his family. Rest in Peace Gavin xx Carolyn

This is a heartfelt message from Western Australia to Gavin's family today. I knew Gavin first when I was the Head of English at Francis Coombe School. He was a great spirit and a man of honour . He was loyal and dedicated and it was with great sadness that I heard of his illness. I hope this message reaches in time to be part of your tribute and memorial to a great man . He touched our lives in so many ways for the better even as far as Australia we remember him today. I will remember him with great affection . The world has lost someone very special.
