An exhibition showcasing local art opened this week.
The Hoops of Hertfordshire exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Henderson Hub in Abbots Langley.
It runs until December 7.
The exhibition features the latest work from the Zooming Sew & Sews, a local group of artists who primarily meet online on Tuesday evenings.
The group is facilitated by mixed media community artist Sian Fenwick and is funded by the Hertfordshire Community Foundation.
The group occasionally meets in person for away-days.
The works on display depict various towns and villages throughout Hertfordshire, each illustrated within a 12-inch hoop and accompanied by quirky facts.
One of the highlights is an intriguing link between Charlie Chaplin and Bishop’s Stortford.
The group has also produced the ‘Booby Trap’ quilt, aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer.
Visitors to the exhibition are encouraged to contribute by stitching on a button, flower, or token, with materials provided.
This gesture represents a survivor, a fighter, a supporter, or any personal memory.
The free exhibition is open in the main hall of the Henderson Hub, from 10am to 2pm Tuesday to Friday, and 10am to 12.30pm on Saturdays until December 7.
