Morrisons has said that a cyber attack is the reason for the bare shelves at many of its stores, including in Watford.
Shoppers were dismayed yesterday (November 25) by the lack of available fruit and vegetables at the Ascot Road store in West Watford, with supplies of meat also said to be running low - a situation labelled "a joke" by one customer.
Dozens took to social media to express their frustration, with another claiming "it was terrible, I gave up and went elsewhere", while someone else said they were "shocked" by the gaps.
Pictures taken by shopper Grant Gamblen show several empty shelves in the store, with others having very few items.
However, the shortages were not only in Watford, with similar problems also reported at stores in Birmingham and Nottingham.

The supermarket giant has now confirmed the reason for the shortage, with warehouse supply chains being impacted by a cyber attack on Blue Yonder, the third-party company which manages its supply.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: "Last week Blue Yonder suffered an outage which has impacted our warehouse management systems for fresh and produce.
"Ambient and frozen are unaffected. We are currently operating on our back up systems and we're working very hard to deliver for our customers across the country."
Last month, a Watford mum hit out at the "mouldy" shelves and "filthy" floors, vowing never to return to the shop.
