A ‘best dining experience’ award for 2025 has gone to a spot just on the edge of Watford.
The latest Condé Nast Johansens awards for excellence, decided by curators including Vogue, GQ, and Tatler, were announced last week.
Hotels across Great Britain and Europe were up for prizes across different categories, with The Grove winning a 'best in the UK' award for the food and drink on offer.
It comes after the hotel picked up ‘best immersive experience' recognition at last year’s event and was also nominated for a Condé Nast Traveller readers’ choice award.

Accessed from Hempstead Road or Grove Mill Lane, it boasts 300 acres of countryside surrounding a Grade II listed building previously used as a retreat for the Earls of Clarendon.
It also has an 18-hole champion golf course, a luxury spa, and a walled garden with a ‘beach’, outdoor pool, and tennis courts.
St Albans’ Sopwell House also won a Condé Nast Johansens awards for excellence this time around - for ‘best recently renovated hotel’.
