Homes Under the Hammer was in the area for yesterday’s episode as a young developer took on a property "ideal for commuters".
Host Owain Wyn Evans visited a two-bedroom flat in Bushey Heath with a guide price of £180k on the BBC One property show’s November 5 instalment.
The ground floor home was badly in need of refurbishing - with Owain nearly hitting himself in the head as a door came off its hinges during the inspection - but double glazing and radiators all looked “in decent nick”.
Necessary changes were seen as being "largely cosmetic”.

When assessed, it was expected that it could be sold for between £390k and 420k or rented for £1.5k to £1.6k per month once renovated. It was bought at auction by chartered surveyor Brandon for £255k with a £15k budget to do it up in two months.
Co-presenter Martin Roberts described Bushey Heath as “an attractive residential area ideal for commuters”, highlighting that it is three miles from Watford and a 20-minute train journey from Euston.
The episode is available to watch on BBC iPlayer for anyone hoping to find out how Brandon got on.
