Where does the best steak in and around Watford?
Prime Steak & Grill
Locals had a lot to say when it came to steak, but amongst the many places named, there was one praised very highly by crowds of people.
Prime Steak & Grill in Chandler's Cross seemed to be the number one spot for steak around the Watford area.
The steak house was founded by Terry Greenhill and Ferdi Pacelli who wanted to create "successful restaurants with the commitment to a ‘cooked from scratch".
Offering a range of menus, Prime has a special steak menu which shares that the meat is "sourced from the finest farms focusing on grass-fed cattle reared ethically and sustainably".
Options for steak include Rump Fillet (£23.90 for 250g), Sirloin (£33.90 for 350g), Rib Eye (£28.90 for 250g) and Fillet (£40.90 for 300g).
Each steak at Prime comes with a selection of sides including French fries, triple-cooked chips, mash, tender stem broccoli and a leaf salad.
On the online review site Tripadvisor, Prime Steak & Grill has a 4.5/5 rating from more than 1,170 reviews.
One guest said: "Easily the best steak I have ever had! Lovely and chilled atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. Had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and will definitely be returning!."
Miller & Carter
Another well-regarded spot for steak was the reliable Miller & Carter with locations in Kings Langley, Rickmansworth and slightly further afield in Stanmore.
Miller & Carter Steakhouse has long been a popular destination for steaks, as the restaurant shares: "Whatever your preferred cut – ribeye, fillet, sirloin or perhaps a chateaubriand between two – it'll be as flavoursome and tender as our master butcher intended."
All steaks at Miller & Carter are British & Irish, aged for a minimum of 30 days using wet and dry techniques for "optimum succulence".
With a wide range of steaks on offer, options include Ribeye (£37.25 for 16oz), Rump (£22.75 for 9oz), and Black Angus Filet Mignon (£38.25 for 10oz).
The Rickmansworth Miller & Carter has a Tripadvisor rating of 4.5/5 and saw one guest share: "Delicious steak, and very enjoyable overall experience. We had the rib eye which was delicious with various sides."
Il Pellegrino
Italian restaurant Il Pellegrino in The Parade, Watford, was also well-praised for its offering of steaks, as one local said: "Rib eye was cooked to perfection".
Il Pellegrino has three main options for steaks, all of the premium quality, 28 days matured and British beef.

The options are a Rib Eye (£23 for 9oz), Fillet (£25 for 8oz) and a Bistecca alla Fiorentina (£30 for 18oz).
On Tripadvisor, Il Pellegrino has an impressive 5/5 rating with one guest sharing: "The food is amazing, we had lobster linguine, a fillet steak and my son had a T-bone steak.
"It was incredible, we have all said it was one of the best meals we have ever had and my son said the steak was the best steak he’s ever eaten."
