One of Watford’s oldest pubs has gone all out for Halloween ahead of a fancy dress party this week.
The Estcourt Arms in St Johns Road is awash with pumpkins, ghosts and bats as it gears up for the event on Friday (November 1), which is free and open to all.
The boozer reopened in June under new management having shutting the previous November – with landlady Marion Buckley hailing a successful first few months.
Though not mandatory, punters are encouraged to visit in their best fancy dress for a night of live music with a “grand prize” being given to the best costume.

Marion said: “The place looks fantastic, so we look forward to seeing everyone in their best fancy dress for a fantastic night in one of Watford’s oldest pubs.
“Come and spend some time at the most haunted place in Watford if you dare!”
Punters were delighted when the revamped Estcourt Arms re-launched, and have soaked up many music nights every Friday during the following months.
At the time, Marion said: “The locals missed the pub terribly when it was closed down, but now they’ve said the pub is really picking up well, they’re delighted it’s back.”
