A pub is looking for a new landlord to take over long-term after it was briefly forced to close when the previous manager left on short notice.
The Western, near the M&S in Rickmansworth High Street, closed without warning on October 1 before reopening two days later. Punch Pubs & Co, which owns the venue, confirmed that this was due to its management partner running the boozer making “the personal decision to leave the pub business” that week.
It is now advertising for a new operator to come in as it confirmed that the existing management is only a temporary solution to prevent a longer-term closure.
A Punch Pubs & Co spokesperson said: “We reopened The Western earlier this month with a holding manager in place whilst we recruit a new management partner to oversee the long-term success of this fantastic pub.”

The company describes the Western as “a characterful community pub” and “the number one venue in Rickmansworth for guests to catch their favourite live sport”.
Managers will be able to live in the pub's private accommodation, which consists of two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom, with all bills paid for.
It asked anyone interested in running the pub to call its recruitment team on 01283 501999.
