Reopening day for a “popular local pub” has been pushed back due to works being delayed.
The Halfway House in Rickmansworth shut earlier this year before an advert appeared online as part of a Stonegate Pub Company search for a new operator to take it over.
Works have since been underway to get it in top shape ahead of reopening and, in August, Stonegate Pub Company, which owns the building, confirmed that a new operator is in place for when it does.
Later that month, a spokesperson shared that it hoped to have the Uxbridge Road boozer open “in the coming weeks”, before it emerged property works were still ongoing a month later and the reopening was pushed back to sometime now.
This afternoon (October 25), Stonegate admitted that the site has “sadly” still not been able to reopen yet due to further delays.

Its regional manager now expects to have the site reopened "by late November".
The company describes the Halfway House as a “popular local hub” with a strong reputation for live music events, “beautiful" beer garden, and an established local following.
Once reopened, it wants to expand the food offering to attract new customers.
