Watford Museum is looking for two "passionate individuals" to help shape its new site.
The museum is looking for residents with a strong connection to Watford and its history to become co-curators.
Those interested in the voluntary positions will have the chance to share their personal stories and perspectives on Watford's rich heritage.
They will also contribute to the design and content of the museum, which is set to open in 2026.
Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Watford to help shape how our town's history is presented to the community.
"Our residents are at the heart of our story, and this project ensures their voices will be heard in the museum.
"I encourage anyone who feels a connection to Watford to get involved and become part of this important venture."
The two individuals will join a group of other co-curators who will be involved in planning the museum's new site. They will need to be able to attend a number of daytime meetings.
Those interested in contributing as a co-curator are invited to contact Naajia Ahmed at naajia.ahmed@watford.gov.uk or visit watfordmuseum.org.uk/communitycallout for more information.
The deadline for applications is midday on Monday, November 4.
The museum's current site in Lower High Street closed in September and work on the new museum is planned to start in early 2025, with completion expected by 2026.
Throughout the process, residents will be able to get further involved in shaping its future through workshops and events.
