A fast-food chain is set to open a second Watford town centre location after its planning application was approved.
In August, Subway submitted a planning application to the borough council for a new branch inside a vacant unit in The Parade.
The designs were approved this morning, and so shoppers can expect to see iconic green and yellow branding going up where McDonald’s used to be, by the Exchange Road flyover.

Staff at the sandwich brand’s existing Watford town centre location, in King Street, have confirmed that it will not be closing. No details of when the new store may open have been shared so far.
It comes after Watford Borough Council approved plans to split up the unit into a kiosk on one side and a unit of around three times its size with a separate entrance.
Subway will be taking over the larger part while the future occupier of the smaller section remains unclear.
