Gail’s has revealed when it aims to open its Watford High Street location by as its plans gained approval.

The bakery chain entered two planning applications in August for 70 High Street, on the corner with Market Street, with proposed changes including repainting and installing its own branding.

After Watford Borough Council approved its designs earlier this week, a spokesperson for the brand shared that, “whilst this is still a work in progress”, it hopes to be able to welcome customers to the store “by the beginning of November”.

The chain is known for its artisan sourdough breads, pastries, sandwiches, and cakes alongside specialty house blend coffee.

Floorplans attached to the planning application suggested that the unit will have 18 seats for eating-in and fixtures installed for a typical bakery set-up.

The unit's most recent occupier, Diva, which sold low-cost womenswear, closed on August 2 having only started trading in February. It opened after Moss Bros Watford moved from the location to atria Watford.
