Retro police cars were spotted outside the town’s former station as part of filming for a ‘TV murder mystery’.
Passers-by spotted production equipment being set up in and around the Shady Lane station at the end of last week but there was a lot more to see at the location yesterday (October 7).
There were several old-fashioned vehicles parked up outside the station, including marked police cars and a black cab. A telephone box was installed at the front, with information inside stating that it is meant to be in Rye, Sussex.

The carriageway in Shady Lane and a footpath past the station were closed. The pay and display bays were also blocked throughout the day, to facilitate the road closure.
A sign placed at the edge of the closure said: “Caution. Filming in progress. The producers and crew would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the preparation/filming of this production.”
There also appeared to be filming taking place at the old magistrates’ court around the corner in Clarendon Road, which closed in 2017.
Watford Borough Council’s filming manager confirmed that the use of the location had been booked through Hertfordshire Film Office, but those involved have remained tight-lipped over what is being shot.
However it is understood to be a TV murder mystery, which appears to be a period piece based on the set created.
The town’s policing team moved to a new town centre station in George Street last December.
Residential developer McLaren Living bought the site containing both the former police station and court and submitted a planning application to turn them into a mixed-use development including 314 homes.
The Hertfordshire Film Office and McLaren Living have been contacted for more information.
It comes after The Conjuring actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga were spotted in Cassiobury Park on the previous Monday (September 30). Many have speculated that scenes were being shot for an upcoming instalment in the series, The Conjuring: Last Rites, set to release next year.
Parkgoers also spotted 25 makeshift gravestones in a cordoned-off section of the park as part of the production.
