A pair of new Halloween events are coming to Watford's town centre during the October half term.
Watford Town Centre BID has announced its programme for 'Trick or Treat week', running from October 26 to November 1.
On Saturday, October 26, The Parade will play host to the "spectacular" 'Trick or Treat show', with a night of free street performances and live entertainment including Halloween-themed performances, fancy dress prizes, scary characters and a fire-breathing act.
Suitable for all ages, the new event encourages costumes, with the best Halloween attires to win prizes, including food and drink vouchers that can be spent in town centre venues.
In addition to this event, a new 'trick or treat trail' allows children to explore the town's inflatable pumpkins in search of sweets and the chance of winning a £100 town centre gift card.
When a group finds an inflatable pumpkin, all they have to do is visit the shop or venue where the pumpkin is displayed and say “Trick or Treat!” to a member of staff to receive the sweet treat.
Running from October 28 to November 1, the trail is also free to all.
Kara Mesiano, Watford Town Centre BID’s manager, said: “We are delighted to introduce a brand-new event to our town to bring some added fun and entertainment during half term and spooky season. We have been working closely with Watford Town Centre’s shops, leisure and hospitality businesses to make Trick or Treat Week a showcase new event to the calendar.
"The Trick or Treat show will include high-level, professional street performances that we hope will thrill and excite the watching audience.
"The Trick or Treat trail is a lovely activity for families with younger children to have some fun whilst they’re out in our town during half term week. It’s a fun twist on trick or treating in your residential area – you can now do it in town centre shops!
"We encourage all participants to make a day of it and discover the brilliant shopping, food, drink and leisure options that Watford Town Centre has to offer.”
