Oktoberfest will take place in Cassiobury Park for the first time this weekend.

Tomorrow (Friday, October 4) and Saturday Watford will be getting a taste of German culture as Barbican Events will be hosting its Hertfordshire Oktoberfest in the town.

Tickets are still on sale for both events. The first will run from 4pm to 10.30pm and then the day session will be from 11am to 4pm the next day.

The festivities will include live Oompah bands, games, karaoke, a DJ as well as traditional German beer and food. There will also be an axe throwing competition and customary costume contest.

Visitors must be 18 or over.

"Oktoberfest guests will experience a bigger and better Oktoberfest as we are always adding more value to our events year on year.

"Last year we hosted the biggest Oktoberfest session in the UK and we expect the momentum to continue in Hertfordshire's biggest town.”
