A café at Watford General Hospital has been handed a 3/5 food hygiene rating.
Peabodys Coffee Ltd's branch in the hospital’s main reception was given the score after assessment on August 22, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
All three areas inspected, hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and management of food safety were found ‘generally satisfactory’.

The ward kitchens at Watford General Hospital also hold a 3/5 rating, while Busy Bees Nursery and MITIE Cleaning and Environmental – which are also located in the hospital – hold the top score of 5/5.
Overall, of Watford's 211 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 148 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
Peabodys Café first opened in the hospital at a temporary location in January 2023, before moving into its current unit in May that year.
As well as hot drinks and cakes, the café also offers freshly blended smoothies, ciabattas, salads, and snacks.
