Plans have been officially submitted to give a “much-loved” Rickmansworth playground a complete revamp.

The Ebury Play Area at Rickmansworth Aquadrome could be set for a variety of new additions, including a wooden hilltop tower with traversing ropes, two willow dens, log scramble, sand pit, tunnel and play hut on the banks of the River Colne.

At the time, the district council had said the new playground would be designed “in the same spirit as the old equipment; carving new fond memories for families”.

If approved, the existing spinning dish, chain bridge and climbing frame would be retained, while the swings and picnic benches would be relocated.
