Flooding has forced a Watford supermarket to close after heavy downpours over the weekend and this morning.
The Dome roundabout Sainsbury’s in Cow Lane will not be reopening “for the day”, according to staff, after it shut earlier this morning (September 22).
It comes as roads in the town have also been flooded amid a Met Office yellow weather warning in place today.
The store has since reopened. See update (2.30pm): A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said, “Our Dome Roundabout store opened slightly later than usual this morning because of local road closures caused by severe weather conditions overnight.
"We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

The Sainsbury’s petrol station and nearby Tim Hortons drive-thru have confirmed that they remain open. Timpson and Argos inside the store are not responding to calls, suggesting they may also have shut.
Many of the parking spaces, including for Tim Hortons, are flooded.
Customers have reported Sainsbury’s orders for today being cancelled due to the issue, although this has not been confirmed.
It comes after a Met Office yellow weather warning for rain was put in place for Watford, starting at midnight and lasting for the rest of today.
The forecaster said: “There is potential that 30 to 50 mm could develop in any part of the warning area, much of which could fall in six hours or less.
“Some locations could see 80-100 mm over the course of 12 to 24 hours.”
