The Rickmansworth branch of an Italian restaurant chain has shut permanently after previously saying it would reopen in autumn.

A notice had been posted in Zaza Italian restaurant's window in Church Street as early as June stating it was closed for refurbishments.

It read: “Refurbishment will be underway over the summer. We look forward to seeing you in the autumn. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

It is not clear when or why the decision was taken. Zaza has been contacted for more information.

The Rickmansworth branch is still listed as “temporarily closed” on Google, but has been removed from the list of locations on Zaza's website.

The Italian restaurant chain was founded in 2006 and currently has seven other sites across Hertfordshire and North London, including in Bushey.
