The former Diva and Moss Bros unit in Watford is set to become a branch of a rapidly expanding bakery chain.
Gail’s has entered two planning applications for 70 High Street, on the corner with Market Street, which were added to the planning portal today (August 15).
The first is to remove the existing shopfront cladding and rendering, before repainting the existing columns and frontage. The second asks for permission to install ‘Gail’s’ lettering over the door and mount two hanging signs.

- High Street clothes shop Diva to close down next month
- Atria Watford's Moss store now open - take a closer look
Documents add that the bids are “in connection with the occupation of the above address by Gail’s”.
Floorplans also show that the unit will have 18 seats for eating-in and fixtures installed for a typical bakery set-up.
The chain is known for its artisan sourdough breads, pastries, sandwiches, and cakes alongside specialty house blend coffee.
Diva, which sold low-cost womenswear, closed on August 2 having only started trading at the unit in February. Prior occupier Moss Bros moved from the location to atria Watford earlier this year.
