The UK’s largest pub company has put a popular high street boozer up for a new operator to take it over.
Stonegate Group wants a new tenant to run the Fox and Hounds in Rickmansworth, describing it as a “traditional town pub” with a range of cask ales, premium beer and a good wine selection.
It adds that the pub appeals to “a more mature customer base” in the “highly affluent area” and says the large beer garden, capable of seating 60 people, is its unique selling point in the busy town centre area.

The two-storey building also offers the operator private accommodation, including two bedrooms.
In a comment attached to the listing, the company’s regional manager said: “This site provides a fantastic opportunity for a multi-skilled individual, couple, or multiple operators to relish as a key part of a great local community.
“There is genuine excitement as to what this site could become, providing the perfect setting for every customer occasion.
“The pub requires someone who is hugely motivated to succeed.”
Running it would require a £17,750 deposit and £68,000 in annual rent.
Stonegate apparently forecasts that the annual turnover should be £684,616, made up of £545,903 from drinks and £138,713 from food.
The pub had a bit of a brush with celebrities at the weekend, as Ashton Kutcher had his picture taken with a fan outside, during a visit to the town with wife Mila Kunis and their children.
