Sessions to explore the River Colne's rich history are coming to Watford this summer.

Families will have the opportunity to step out into nature, participating in scavenger hunts, bug hunting, natural arts and crafts, plus more.

These fun-filled activities will take place at at Oxhey Activity Park on July 30, August 6, 13, 20, and 27 - revealing many of the river's hidden secrets.

Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: "We are excited to bring back our free Wildplay sessions this summer.

"We want to make sure all families have the opportunity to connect with the River Colne and its fascinating heritage."

The sessions are set to take place courtesy of support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Families should note that due to limited availability, they should only book one time slot per day.

The tickets, which cover all family members, can be booked at eventbrite.co.uk/e/tales-of-the-river-colne-wildplay-free-tickets-928468382927.

Organisers have requested if any ticket holders are unable to attend, they should notify them to make space for those on the waiting list.

The event times are scheduled at 9.15am, 11am, and 1pm. Those interested in more information can contact Emily Evans by emailing emily.evans@groundwork.org.uk.
