What looks to be a small sinkhole has appeared in a car park - triggering fears of a trip hazard for elderly people.
The Delta Gain car park hole was discovered by a Carpenders Park resident, who said it was an "extremely dangerous hazard" for those visiting the shops.
The 53-year-old added: "I was absolutely shocked to see it, somebody seemed to have placed a cone on top to try to hide it.
"It's mainly elderly people who use that car park and heaven forbid if someone fell down that would be terrible. I think it looks like a sinkhole and it could definitely expand if it's not dealt with."Three Rivers District Council councillor Rue Grewal visited the site this morning and estimated the “deep” hole went 2ft down by 1ft across.

“Luckily it’s not where pedestrians walk so it is obviously dangerous but mostly if you park your car there,” she said. “It looks like it has sunk or the ground has just dropped away.”
Cllr Grewal said Watford Rural Parish Council has raised the issue with Orbit Property Management, which runs the car park and will send emergency contractors to fix it today.
Orbit Property Management has been contacted for more information.
