“The most delicious and authentic Greek food” is on offer from a newly opened takeaway for the town.

Regulars were disappointed to hear that popular restaurant The Greek Pitta at 271 St Albans Road had been put up for sale in early April this year, but fans of the cuisine may be pleased to hear that the unit’s new owners have not changed too much upon reopening it.

Greek Time launched there on June 28 and similarly boasts a menu of authentic Mediterranean food including pitta wraps, skewers, falafel, souvlaki, grilled meat, moussaka, and salads.

Owner Francesco Kafmi confirmed that the businesses are not related and are under different ownership but added that he aimed to keep up serving quality Greek dishes just as his predecessors had.

When The Greek Pitta was put on the market, the outgoing owner told the Watford Observer that he also has another business in Bedfordshire, where he lives, and it had become difficult to juggle both roles.

He was therefore looking to sell it on to someone who can continue from the position the business is in.
