The owners of a traditional "18th/19th century" pub in a village five miles from Watford are looking for a landlord to take it over.
The Windmill, in The Common, Chipperfield, offers classic pub dishes and a range of cask ales to cater to residents as well as walkers, cyclists, and tourists.
A new listing has gone live through pub company Red Oak Taverns which confirms that it is seeking a new operator to run it on a tenancy at will basis, with a £5,000 minimum ingoing cost and a £39,5000 annual rent plus VAT.

The listing describes it as a “excellent inn and traditional country pub” situated at “the heart of the village” which can seat around 40 people.
It adds: “The successful applicant should be comfortable using their local knowledge to run a successful friendly village local with a very busy bar and pub food operation, and a popular cask ales and drinks portfolio.”
The pub also has three bedrooms, a living room, office, kitchen, and a bathroom on the first floor. There is a car park for 12 vehicles.
