Pretzel lovers have rejoiced as the Watford branch of a global chain has reopened today with a fresh new look.
The Auntie Anne’s outlet in atria was shut from June 6 to 14 as it was the first UK store to be renovated under an international rebrand.
A spokesperson for the chain estimated hundreds of people had headed to the shopping centre for the grand reopening today, June 15, as they had given away around 500 balloons through the day.
Photos from today show the “beloved” Auntie Anne’s mascot Mr. Twist posing with children and families enjoying their sweet and savoury baked treats.

The pretzel chain was first founded by “Auntie” Anne F. Beiler and her husband, Jonas, at a farmers’ market in Pennsylvania in 1988.
It has since grown to over 2,000 stores in over 30 countries, including Watford’s branch which opened in 2010 in the then-Harlequin Centre.
The eatery used to feature a white façade with a logo depicting a pretzel with a halo floating above, and it is now decorated with a blue shop front as well as updated logo and illuminated lettering.
