A Watford High Street store is set to close just months after opening following sign controversy.

Diva, which sells low-cost womenswear, only moved into the former Moss Bros unit in February but “closing down sale” signs can now be seen in the windows.

Another reads: "All stock reduced! Store closing. Everything must go!"

It is understood that the last day could be as soon as the end of this month, but this is subject to change as the stock clearance continues.

The business never had a website but stood out on the high street with a large white façade bearing its name and “1,000s of items for £10 or less”.

In March, it was revealed that “several” shoppers had complained about the design which had been put up without any advert consent from Watford Borough Council.

WBC then told the property's owners and agents to remove it before Diva "promptly" complied, according to the local authority.

The 3,342 square foot unit was listed on Rightmove for £7,917 per month in February after Moss Bros, now renamed Moss, moved to its new location in atria Watford’s upper mall in March last year.
