Heineken has confirmed that a returning Watford pub will be operating under a short-term agreement and is still looking for a new landlord.
Yesterday (June 11), Star Pubs and Bars announced that The Estcourt Arms, in St Johns Road, is set to reopen with this weekend targeted for the launch.
It had been searching for a new operator to take over and bring back the boozer ever since it was boarded up at short notice in November.
Despite the relaunch being confirmed, the listing for someone to run The Estcourt Arms as its new tenant is still online, and the company has explained that the search for the right person long-term remains ongoing.

A Star Pubs and Bars spokesperson said: “To support new licensees we sometimes offer a short-term agreement so they can test whether the venture is right for them. This is the case with the Estcourt Arms.
“We want to keep the pub open for customers in all eventualities, so we are continuing to market it to prospective long-term operators.”
Star Pubs and Bars says it wants someone who will work to drive trade and build a live entertainment programme and live sports offering at the pub.
While it was boarded up, the building underwent a refurbishment from January this year.
