Bushey residents have voiced their frustration after a children’s water park closed for the third time this month.
King George Recreation Ground's Splash Pad has been shut since Friday (May 24) due to "water quality issues", Hertsmere Borough Council said.
A local authority spokesperson confirmed it was the third closure since opening for the summer on May 4, following previous unrelated issues caused by a pump fault and "operator error".]
Engineers are currently working to identify the latest problem and council policy is to close the park if it does not meet the council's “high standards”.
Locals branded the ongoing issues an "absolute joke" online, with one claiming the site has been a "disaster" since opening in 2022.

Liberal Democrat councillor Maxie Allen added he was “extremely frustrated and disappointed by these constant closures”.
“Every week families turn up to King George’s in the expectation of having fun in the splash park only to find it’s shut,” he added.
He said it was not the park officers' fault but he will ask council leadership for a full review of the facility’s operations.
