If you’re looking for somewhere to eat around Watford, this list of eateries with poor food hygiene may help you to decide where not to go.
While the town generally enjoys a good standard of hygiene, there are a handful of restaurants and takeaways which have fallen foul of the borough council inspectors.
Although 65 per cent of the 924 eateries are currently rated ‘very good’, 13 have been told they need ‘major improvement’, while two takeaways were handed ‘urgent improvement necessary’ notices.

A Sri Lankan takeaway in St Albans Road has lost its appeal over its 0/5 score following a visit on March 25, while a Portuguese cafe visited on the same day said it was “very disappointed” with its 1/5 rating and hopes it will be raised upon reinspection.
