A UK chicken store chain will move into a former Watford Chinese takeaway as part of its expansion plans.
New branding for Wingers - The Chicken Wing Company has appeared above 96 The Parade, advertising “top notch buttermilk fried chicken”, in the previous Take a Wok unit.
The chain said in December that it was eyeing Watford as part of a 30-store expansion deal and the town is listed as “coming soon” on its website.
Update: the branch aims to open on Wednesday, May 29.
Wingers is a family-run chain set up by Amran and Dylan Sunner and dad Bill, which first launched in Lichfield in 2022.

It serves fried chicken and wings, sides and milkshakes across nine branches in the Midlands.
The new site will be between Wenzel’s The Baker and Window To The Womb Health Centre in The Parade, which was put on the market last July for £40,000 a year.
It has been empty since Take A Wok closed in early 2023, but workmen were spotted inside last month.
