A major supermarket chain has said it is on the lookout for new Hertfordshire sites.
This morning (May 1), Aldi asked members of the public nationwide for their views on where a new supermarket is needed.
It said that the areas which have the most suggestions will “be considered” as part of Aldi’s commitment to build hundreds of new stores across Britain.
The business' managing director of national real estate, Jonathan Neale, said: “We want to make high-quality food accessible to all, but there are still some areas that either don’t have an Aldi or have potential for more stores.
“We’ve identified some key places where there is demand for more stores already, but now we are calling on the public to share their views.
“This will be used to help inform our property search over the coming years.”
Suggestions can be submitted via email at nextnewstore@aldi.co.uk by May 31. Respondents should state their postcode and why they believe their area needs a new Aldi store.
The appeal comes just a day after rival chain Lidl sharing a map of hundreds of locations it is eyeing for future stores across the country.
It included dozens of spots in Hertfordshire where it is offering a finder’s fee for members of the public who identify sites.
