A South Oxhey football pitch has closed suddenly for repairs with no reopening date confirmed.
Everyone Active was forced to shut the Sir James Altham 3G Pitch in Little Oxhey Lane from yesterday, April 29, according to an email seen by the Watford Observer.
In correspondence sent by the leisure facility operator on Friday, it said it would update users once it had received more information from Three Rivers District Council regarding the necessary work.
Everyone Active staff confirmed that a reopening date had not yet been set and the facility is “not available” on the online booking form.
It is currently unclear what damaged the facility. Everyone Active and Three Rivers District Council have been contacted for more information.
The artificial pitch is situated next to the Oxhey Jets FC grounds and is “perfect for five-a-side football teams of all ages and abilities”, according the Everyone Active website.
It is run by the leisure operator on behalf of the district council, which also manages the nearby South Oxhey Leisure Centre.
