Two Watford eateries have been awarded the top score for food hygiene, according to the latest data.
Italian restaurant Fratelli, at 89 to 91 The Parade, was given the 'very good' 5/5 rating after an inspection on April 16, while Subway at 11 King Street was also given a top rating after its March 19 inspection.
Borough council inspectors visited unnoticed to assess three categories: hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and the management of food safety.

Watford generally enjoys a good standard of food hygiene as 65 per cent of its establishments are currently rated 5/5. Last week, however, two takeaways next door to each other were handed some of the worst scores in the town.
Pizza Hot Express, at 99 Vicarage Road, was rated 1/5 after it was inspected on March 13, while the joint takeaways Mr Sushi and Panda Oriental at 97 Vicarage Road got 0/5.
The Chinese and Japanese eatery was handed the ‘urgent improvement necessary’ grade following an inspection on March 11.
