A smash-hit Watford restaurant has had queues stretching around the corner “every day since opening”, staff have said.
American chicken chain Wingstop continued its rapid UK expansion with a new opening in the former Honest Burger unit in Market Street on Saturday (March 30).
Pictures from the launch show a level of popularity that defied all expectations as the first 100 customers received free wings and the chance to try Wingstop’s new ‘voodoo loaded fries’.

Busy staff told the Watford Observer that they were “really happy” with the level of demand in the town. The opening day was apparently not a flash in the pan either as the store has repeated the feat with queues stretching outside each day since.
“We’ve been a huge success, we had a large crowd of eager customers on opening day,” a member of staff added.
“To be honest we’ve had a queue of customers every day we’ve been open.”
The unit, which used to be a Post Office, had been occupied by burger chain Honest Burgers since April 2022, but closed on January 25 “due to a change in customer demand in the area”.
