As schools break soon for the Easter holidays, parents will be scratching their heads for how to fill the next two weeks.

Luckily, there are a range of fun activities for children of all ages around Watford.

The Wat's On programme is offering a variety of free sessions to keep them occupied, and there are also ticketed Easter egg hunts happening in around the town.

Wat’s On free activities

There will be almost two weeks of free indoor and outdoor activities for children aged five to 15, as part of the Wat’s On programme run by marketing agency Bowerbirdy and Watford Borough Council.

Kids can wile away the Easter holidays at the sports club, arts & crafts sessions, or even film school.

There is a maximum capacity of 60 children per indoor session and unlimited children for the outdoor park events.

Easter Trail at Cassiobury Park

On Sunday, children can discover the character hidden around Cassiobury Park at the Easter-themed trail, with a sweet treat at the end.

The self-led trail will take an hour to complete and costs £3, while adults and babies in prams go free.

Giant Easter Egg Hunt and Open Day at Cassiobury Farm

Kids can see a range of exotic animals, from alpacas to arctic foxes, when the farm and fishery opens its doors to the public on Easter Sunday and the next Monday.  

Map will take them around the site to find hidden giant golden Easter eggs and Easter-themed characters, and will lead them to a chocolate cave “stacked full of sweet Easter treats”.

Price: £12 for children’s entrance and £5 for the Easter egg hunt

Frogs & Minibeasts Hunt at Cassiobury Park

Any budding-biologists and their families are invited to look for frogs and insects on this outdoor wildlife walk in Cassiobury Park.

Cassiobury Park crafts sessions

The Park Hub team is also organising two arts and craft activities for children in the second week of the Easter holidays.

Kids can make flowers out of paper or recycle an old sock into an Easter bunny at these sessions in the education room at the Hub.

Lush Watford Product Making Party

Have you ever wondered how they make bath bombs?

Find out at these workshops at Lush atria, where you can try your hand at making one for yourself.

The sessions are for children ages seven upwards and will run for 30 minutes, each attendee will receive a goodie bag with an exclusive product.
