Hertsmere foodies can rest easy after eight eateries were awarded top food hygiene ratings, according to new data.
Six restaurants and two takeaways all received the 'very good' 5/5 score in recent weeks after inspections from Environmental Health officers.
- Kings Langley Tandoori scores 5/5 for food hygiene
- Mekan Turkish Grill receives 1/5 food hygiene rating
The following restaurants, cafés and takeaways in Hertsmere all received 5/5 upon inspection:
- Wok U Like, 20 The Broadway, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, inspected on January 19
- Script Restaurant & Bar at The Hertsmere, 30 Watling Street, Elstree, inspected on January 29
- Akash Tandoori, 195 Watling Street, Radlett, inspected on January 24
- Orchard Tea Rooms at Shenley Park, Radlett Lane, Shenley, inspected on February 1
- Aamcha Eastern Kitchen at 70e Watling Street, Radlett, inspected on February 5
- The Arch Restaurant at 195c Shenley Road, Borehamwood, inspected on February 7
- Sams Chicken, 142 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, inspected on February 14
- Barry Oh My Cod Fish & Grill at 39 Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire; inspected on February 14
Assessors visited without notice and graded them on three categories: hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and the management of food safety.
The scores are added together to give a score between zero and five, with the lowest meaning 'urgent improvement necessary' and the highest 'very good'.
The sandwich shop Treasure Deli & More, at 28 The Broadway, Potters Bar, also received a 3/5 or ‘generally satisfactory’ rating in the latest data, released following an inspection on January 9.
