Punters have had an “overwhelming” response to an iconic Watford pub’s new look.
The Horns, in Hempstead Road, Watford, has been undergoing a transformation since reopening after a two-month closure and change of management in December of last year.
Most recently it has unveiled a reworked bar area and new flooring, which were put in last week, as well as new music posters, art, and decorations to liven up the walls.

Denis Cook, who returned to managing the pub and live music venue after more than a decade away, said that punters have had an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the new Horns.
“Everybody is loving the new look,” he said. “The nights are going very well too, so we are very pleased.”
The manager added that the next major step in the redesign is to update the outside seating area at the front of the building. This is likely to take place “nearer the spring”.
The Horns closed for the second time in two years from October 21 to December 22.
Although the previous operator had said the pub was “totally unsustainable”, new management was able to reopen the venue and it went through initial works including a deep-clean and renovation of the interior during the time to was shut.
