Almost all Watford schools and colleges have very good food hygiene, according to official figures.
While some pupils may claim to not like school dinners, Watford students have one less reason to complain after 41 out of 43 schools were given a 'very good' 5/5 food hygiene score.
Like all local restaurants, schools, colleges and universities are inspected by the borough council's environmental health officers to ensure they comply with safety regulations.
The latest Food Standards Agency figures show almost all schools were rated highly for their hygienic food handling, including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.

The majority of school kitchens also received top marks for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and the management of food safety to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat.
Only two food providers received a 'good' 4/5 score: the caterer Impact Food Group at Future Academies in Horseshoe Lane, and the Junior Adventures Group children's’ club at Beechfield School in Gammons Lane.
No schools received a rating of 3/5 or below.
