Wagamama’s plans to set up a new Watford location have been approved.
The Japanese restaurant chain applied for planning permission to hang signs with its name and branding outside the former Frankie & Benny’s unit in Woodside Leisure Park at the start of this month and has now had these plan approved.
The decision to grant permission for the signs, as well as for another plan to remodel the storefront with new doors and windows, was added to the Watford Borough Council planning portal today (January 29).

The chain already has a location in Watford town centre.
Now that the location is no longer pending planning permission the Watford Observer has asked Wagamama for confirmation it will be opening a second location in the town, as well as when locals can expect to first dig-in.
The Frankie & Benny’s restaurant shut down last year. It followed the closure of Chiquito Watford two doors down.
Separate plans have revealed that the former Chiquito unit is set to be split into two, with Nando’s confirmed to be opening in the large part and Starbucks believed to be lined up for the smaller one.
