People looking to improve their fitness and wellbeing well be able to try out the facilities for free at Watford’s two leisure centres this weekend.
Watford Woodside and Watford Central leisure centre are hosting an open weekend today (Saturday) and Sunday, offering free activities all weekend suitable for the whole family.
Watford Woodside will kick off the open weekend today, offering a range of free activities, and more will be on offer at Watford Central Leisure Centre tomorrow.

The open weekend will include an array of free group exercise classes, including Zumba, yoga, group cycling, and the high-intensity Metafit. Participants can also join gym challenges and taster sessions with certified personal trainers throughout both days.
Complimentary badminton and pickleball sessions will be running all weekend, while families can also make a splash with free swimming activities, featuring floating sessions and inflatable swimming on both days.
Children can enjoy face painting, bouncy castles, and explore the Active Antz soft play area during the weekend.
As an added incentive, Everyone Active, which manages the centres in partnership with Watford Borough Council, is hosting a competition. Participants who book any of the free sessions stand a chance to win a virtual hamper full of prizes, including additional free sessions and guest passes.
Kelly Spencer, contract manager at Everyone Active said: “We’re incredibly excited to invite the local community to our leisure centres in Watford this weekend free of charge.
“It’s a fantastic way for us to showcase our facilities, offering the community the chance to try out the pool, gym, classes and children’s activities.”
Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: "As a council dedicated to the health and happiness of our community, we're thrilled Everyone Active will be holding a weekend of fitness for all residents. These free classes are the perfect opportunities for the community to come together and get find new, fun ways to stay healthy in 2024.”
