Watford could soon get its own officially licensed Monopoly board complete with local landmarks.
Winning Moves UK, which is licensed by Hasbro to produce variations on the game in Europe, has today (January 23) announced it will be selecting one of six Hertfordshire towns and cities for an edition, based on nominations from the public.
The possibilities are Hertford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Stevenage, Watford, and Welwyn Garden City.

The winner is set to be announced via an event in the respective town or city next month and will be the first Hertfordshire location to get an official board, in time for Christmas 2024.
“Good luck to all six locations.” Ella Gibbs, from Winning Moves UK, said. “Whoever wins we are sure we will be wonderfully spoilt with choices when putting the board together ultimately.”
The final board will see more than 30 local landmarks and favourite spots showcased to replace those on the classic London board.
Property sets will be themed in genres such as heritage, leisure, arts, business, entertainment, and education. The train stations will change to a ‘travel’ theme because Herts does not have as interconnected a rail system as the capital, the company added.
Locals can nominate one of the six shortlisted locations via email to: herts@winningmoves.co.uk.
Nominations are open from today until midnight on January 31.
