The future of two Watford takeaway locations could be in doubt amid reports of “up to 100” pizza place closures.
According to The Sun, dozens of Papa Johns’ 524 branches across the UK are set to permanently shut in 2024.
A company insider reportedly told the newspaper that the number could be "up to 100", but Papa Johns did not confirm how many branches will be closing.
The takeaways on the block are expected to be among the global brand’s “low-performing” restaurants, as it seeks to boost profits.

Papa Johns has two Watford locations, in Market Street and St Albans Road. It also has a takeaway in Rickmansworth.
It has closed restaurants in previous years while also opening new ones at the same time.
A spokesperson also noted, in a statement to The Sun, that “no final decisions have been made at this time”.
They added: “As we work to fully optimize our restaurant operations and improve profitability across the market, we will continue evaluating the growth potential of our restaurants.
"This includes working collaboratively with our franchisees to strategically close low-performing locations when necessary.”
