If you are looking for a new place to eat in Watford these spots which opened in 2023 could be just the ticket.

The town has seen lots of openings and closures during the past 12 months.

With so many fresh places it might be tough to keep track so we have collated 15 you might be interested in.

Our Brother’s

The Portuguese and Brazilian family that runs Gabriel's by Vitor Galiano in Vicarage Road opened Our Brother's restaurant in Market Street in January.

Chaiiwala

Chaiiwala - a café that offers Indian beverages, an all-day Indian breakfast, and varied street food took over an atria Watford unit in March.

Watford BBQ

Turkish restaurant Watford BBQ started selling its first kebabs in Market Street in March 2023.

Meriden Kitchen

Opened in May of the year this York Way café has proved a hit with its menu offering cooked breakfasts and salads.

Haute Dolci

Offering something a little different, Haute Dolci, started selling its luxury desserts at its atria Watford location in June.

Rio Grande Steak House

Opened in June, the Vicarage Road restaurant Rio Grande offers Brazliian style steaks and family recipes.

Pepe’s Piri Piri - St Albans Road

Pepe’s Piri Piri opened its third Watford location in St Albans Road in June. The flame grilled chicken specialists offers the opportunity for customers to either eat in or take away.

La Pino’z Pizza

The second UK branch of La Pino’z Pizza launched in The Parade in June and unusually uses authentic Indian food flavours on pizzas.

Thekaa

Indian Gastropub Thekaa opened in the former Marcel’s and Bar Bodega unit in The Parade in early July and has been blending the pub experience with Indian street-food.

Brim Burger

Brim Burger opened early in July and offers customers fresh burgers from its 24-seat St Albans Road location.

Creed Restaurant and Shisha

St Albans Road’s Creed Restaurant and Shisha opened in July and serves a mix of Afghan-inspired food.

Cloud 7

Cloud7 in The Quarters, St Albans Road, welcomed customers for the first time in August last year.

The menu is varied and ranges from pancakes to smashed burgers, and Korean dishes.

Toska

Another St Albans Road restaurant, Toska opened in September and offers a mix of Mediterranean food.

Café De Lisboa

Café De Lisboa opened in The Parade in September and sells baked goods, cakes, desserts, sandwiches, bifanas, and pregos. However, it specialises in pastel de natas.

Ready Burger

At Ready Burger, in the High Street, all the food served is 100% plant based. The location also offers table tennis, air hockey, and arcade games and opened in September.
