Heineken has finally revealed its plans for a boarded-up Watford pub.
The Estcourt Arms, in St Johns Road, shut down when its landlords left on November 19 and was subsequently boarded up, without confirmation of its future.
Today (December 19), Heineken subsidiary Star Pubs and Bars, which owns the building, told the Watford Observer: “Star Pubs & Bars has made The Estcourt Arms secure while it remains closed.

“We are committed to reopening the pub again as soon as possible and are undertaking repairs to the pub during January to that end.”
It added that anyone interested in taking the pub on can register their interest with its recruitment team on 08085 949596.
While Star Pubs and Bars owns the venue, it leased it to an independent company to run as its own business.
That company has been responsible for its day-to-day operation and appointing people to manage it.
The outgoing licensees had shared that they were leaving due to “situations behind the scenes being out of our hands” and personal reasons that made it “the right time for us to step away from the bar”.
