It is time for Christmas decorations to go up which for many people means picking out the perfect tree for the holiday season.

Finding a tree can be a tricky task but in and around Watford there are plenty of places where they can be purchased.

Carpenders Park Garden Centre

Located in Little Oxhey Lane this shop is selling real Christmas trees as well as artificial ones.

The Nordmann Fir trees start at £39.99 for the 120-150cm ones and the prices go up to £399.99 for the 350-400cm ones.

It is also offering fresh-cut trees which begin at £49.99 and go up to £299.99, with tree stands priced at an additional £29.99.

Watford B&Q

The DIY shop is selling trees starting at £19.99 for a potted one to two-foot tree but prices go up to £60 for an extra-large Nordmann fir tree.

It is located in Arches Retail Park and offers click-and-collect as well as home delivery.

Christmas Tree Farm

A bit further out of Watford, there is the Christmas Tree Farm in Chesham.

It is approximately a 30-minute drive from Watford and offers homegrown Christmas trees.

It also sells holly wreaths and Christmas decorations.

According to the website, it is a “festive day out” and has a large number of trees to choose from.

Opening times: 9:00am - 5:30pm but will be opening later in the evenings from December 1.

The Plant Stop

This is closer to home as it is located on Hempstead Road and sells a range of fresh-cut and potted trees.

There are also decorative wreaths in stock along with tree stands and other festive decorations.

Christmas Tree Sales

This is located in Oxhey Lane and sells trees for the festive season.

It is open seven days a week and according to a Google review, it has “adequate prices from £15-60”.
